Buttermilk Chicken


I have had this recipe for a long time and I have never tried it. I finally gave it a try the other day. It was so good. I love mash potatoes and gravy so this was my kind of meal.

Buttermilk Chicken

2 Tbls. butter
6 chicken breasts
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 cans of cream of chicken soup
2 c. buttermilk

 Combine flour, salt paprika and pepper on large plate. Melt butter in large baking dish. Coat chicken pieces in flour mixture and lay in baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees.  After it has cook for 15 minutes turn chicken and then continue baking for another 15 minutes.  Then combine cream of chicken and buttermilk.  Pour over chicken and bake for another additional 15 minutes.  Spoon gravy over mashed potatoes.  Total cook time is 45 minutes or longer if chicken is still pink in center.
