My wonderful husband makes us big breakfast on Saturday mornings for the family. He loves to make the kids mickey mouse pancakes. And this morning he decided he wanted to make strawberry syrup to go along with our pancakes. It sure was delicious.
Strawberry Syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 1/2 c. mashed or chopped finely unsweetened strawberries
In saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil. Gradually add strawberries; return to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over pancakes, waffles or ice cream.
