Peanut Butter Bars

These Peanut Butter bars are the best!! I could eat the whole pan by myself. And I am serious when I say that.

Peanut Butter Bars

1 c. butter melted
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. flour
1 c. peanut butter
1 can milk chocolate frosting

Mix together in bowl butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Then add eggs and mix. Then add baking soda, salt and vanilla and mix good. Then add flour and oatmeal and mix. Once it is all mix together good put it in a jelly roll pan that is greased really good. Pat down to cover all the edges of the pan. Put in oven and bake 350 degree for 15 minutes. Take out of oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Then spread the peanut butter over the top. Once the pan has cooled completely then spread the frosting over the top. I then like to let it set out and let the frosting harden a little bit so when you do have to serve them they will not stick together as much.

*And my sister has made them before and has cut the recipe in half and put them in a 9x13 pan. I have never tried this but she says it works.

  1. So these are truly fabulous! I'm going to give you my chocolate frosting recipe because it takes this recipe to a celestial level :)

    2 3/4 cup powdered sugar
    6 T. cocoa
    6 T. butter
    5 T. evaporated milk
    1 tsp vanilla

Cream the butter and add the cocoa. Cream some more and add the sugar and evap milk intermittently. Add vanilla and you are done!

Sooooo good. Add sugar or milk if the consistency isn't right, but I've never had to adjust. It is perfect.
