Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

At one of our church potluck events my friend Krystal brought this to it and I took one taste and knew I had to have the recipe. It is very creamy and delicious.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

4 chicken breast cooked and cut up
1/4 c. melted butter
8 Slices of Swiss cheese (I never have Swiss cheese on hand so I always use mozzarella cheese)
8 Slices of ham cut up
1 small can of mushrooms drained (optional)
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1/4 c. water
1 c. herb stuffing mix
1/4 c. melted butter

Boil chicken in water to cook it and then cut it up. Place cooked chicken in a 9x13 casserole dish or smaller that is greased with 1/4 c. butter. Add the next three things in order (cheese, ham, mushrooms) In a separate bowl combine the cream of chicken soup with water and mix together. Then pour this mixture over top of casserole. Toss stuffing mix with the 1/4 c. butter. Then sprinkle over the top of casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
