Potato & Ham Casserole


This recipe comes from my good friend Jeanne. She has since moved away. And so every time I eat this it really makes me miss her.

Potato Ham Casserole

2 c. ham cut into cubes
5 potatoes peeled and cubed
2 c. cheese

White Sauce
4 Tbls butter
4 Tbls. flour
2 c. milk
3 Tbls onion diced.
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp salt

Melt butter in pan then add onions and saute for a few minutes. Then add pepper and salt. Then add flour and mix well. Then pour in milk and mix well. Continue stirring constantly until it starts to boil and gets thick.


In a 9x13 greased casserole dish. Layer 1/2 of potatoes, 1/2 of ham, then pour half of sauce over then top with 1/2 of the cheese. Then repeat with potatoes, ham, sauce and the rest of cheese.

Cover and cook 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Uncover the last 10 minutes of cooking.
