Homemade Bread

The other day I was talking to my sister Sharon on the phone and she said she was making homemade bread. And I thought oh I wish I lived close to her because that sounds really good right now. So when I got off the phone I decide why not make some. I have tried in the past and it hasn't worked out. But this time it did work out. I was really surprise I don't know what I did different this time but I am sure glad it worked out. It went really good with homemade chicken noodle soup that we had that night with dinner. That recipe soon to come.

Homemade Bread
1/2 c. warm water
1 Tbl. sugar
2 Tbl. yeast

Mix in a small separate bowl and set aside

Scald 4 c. Milk - let cool a little
1 c. sugar
1 Tbl. salt
1/2 c. oil
2 eggs

Mix all together and then add few cups of flour and beat again.

Then add yeast mixture and beat. Continue adding flour (about 4 to 5 cups) until you can knead it. If you don't have a bosh or kitchen aid then when kneading it on cupboard the secret is to keep it as sticky as you can and still knead it. Knead for 5 minutes

Put it in a bowl then let rise until double in side then punch down and then let rise again. Divide into 4-5 loafs, shape put in greased bread pans. Cook 325 degree for 30 minutes. Make 4-5 loaves of bread

(You can also half the recipe and it will make 2 - 3 loaves of bread)

  1. I made this bread with the soup. It was great! I used half wheat and half white flour. Yum!
