Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream


Vanilla Ice Cream

(This recipe makes enough to go into a 4 quart ice cream maker)

3 c. milk
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 c. half & half
1 Tbls. vanilla extract
3 c. whipping cream

Scald milk until bubbles form around edges.  Remove from heat. Add sugar and salt. Stir until dissolved. Stir in half and half, vanilla and whipping cream. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes. Freeze in ice cream maker as directed.
