One of my favorite cookies. When I was little for my birthday my mom would make this cookies for me to take to school for my treat to share with my class. I remember she would stay up all night making them for me. What a good mom I had! Now days you have to take store bought treats instead of homemade. What is the world coming too :)
Homemade Oreo Cookies
1 cake mix (lemon or chocolate)
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
Mix all together. Batter will be thick. Roll into balls. Bake on cookies sheet at 375 degree for 8 minutes. Let cool. Then add frosting to one cookie and stick it together with another cookie.
Frosting
8 oz cream cheese
1 lb. powdered sugar
1/2 c. butter (melted)
1 tsp. vanilla
