Homemade Pizza

We had a tradition at our house that on Saturday nights we have homemade pizza well, I said had about 1 1/2 years ago my pizza making skills turned south. And I started to make crappy pizza crust. For the life of me I couldn't make a good crust. So that tradition went away. I have tried a few more times to make it again but no success. The other day I decided to give it one more shot. And it worked. I used a new crust recipe and I thought it turned out great. I am excited to try and again and see if my skills is back.

Homemade Pizza

1 Tbls. yeast
1 c. of warm water
1 Tbls. sugar
1 Tbls. oil
2 tsp. salt
2- 2 1/2 c. flour

Mix together yeast, water, sugar, oil and salt. Let set for 5 minutes. Then add flour, add enough to make dough easy to handle. Knead for 5 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes. Then roll out dough and place on greased pizza pan sprinkled with cornmeal. Spread pizza sauce. Then add desired ingredients (olives, onions, sausage, pepperoni and etc.) Top with mozzarella cheese. Then cover pizza with cloth and let set for 1 hour to let crust rise. Then bake at 450 degree for 15-20 minutes.

Pizza Sauce
1 can of tomato paste
3/4 c. water or a little more
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil

Put can of tomato paste in bowl then add water and mix together. Paste should become thin but not to thin and not to thick. If it is to thick you might need to add more water to make right consistency. Then add rest of ingredients and mix. It is then ready to spread on pizza dough.
