This is my mom recipe for pork chops. It is one of my husband favorites. I don't know what food isn't his favorite. I think he likes everything I cook. He makes the mash potatoes that you see in the picture. They are really tasty! Maybe I can get him to blog about his mash potatoes sometime.
Pork Chops with Gravy
1/4 c. olive oil
3 or 4 pork chops
1 c. flour
seasonings -salt, pepper, seasoning salt
milk
1 tsp or a little more of Kitchen Bouquet (can find it by BBQ sauce at walmart, it is a yellow and brown container usually on the top shelf at the store)
Heat oil in frying pan. Put flour with seasonings on a plate and mix together. Coat pork chops in flour and put in hot oil in pan. Sprinkle the seasonings on pork chops while frying. Keep turning too cook it on both sides. After it is all cook through and not red in the middle (about 20 minutes). Take the meat out of pan and sit on a plate. Then put 1/4 or 1/2 cup of flour (depending on how much oil is left in the pan) mix it in the oil. Then pour milk in and mix. Pour as much milk as you want depending on how much gravy you want. Then add Kitchen Bouquet and stir it in. Let cook over medium heat and continue stirring. Don't let it sit to long in between stirring so it doesn't burn. Once it comes to a boil it should start to get thick, let it boil for 1 minute. Serve gravy over mash potatoes.
